Englewood, NJ December, 2010 – Physicians and staff at The Heart and Vascular Institute at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center (englewoodhospital.com) celebrated ten years of cardiac excellence and shared their vision for the future of cardiac health at a recent special celebration. When the Institute first opened its doors in 2000, it embarked on a mission to create a world-class cardiac program for patients. That promise was delivered; and today, patients turn with confidence to Englewood Hospital for its expertise and commitment to delivering the best medical care. In addition, nearly 80% of heart surgeries are performed transfusion-free (bloodless).  Englewood Hospital’s highly-acclaimed cardiac program is well-recognized and has received numerous accolades, including:

CareChex®: Medical Excellence Award for cardiac care, #3 ranked cardiac care hospital in New Jersey (2009 - 2011)

HealthGrades: Five-star rating for Treatment of Heart Attack and Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery (2010 - 2011)

The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services: Ranked #3 nationwide for heart attack survival (CMS data for Medicare patients discharged between July 2006 and June 2007)
